SATURDAY NOVEMBER 14, 2020 FROM 10AM TO NOON

What a huge difference we all made on Piedmont Circle!  Thank you for volunteering. 25 bags of trash, 40 leaf bags and a pile of brush the size of an Amazon van. All it took was 20 volunteers who cared, a landscaping team and two hours!

Piedmont Heights Business Alliance is happy to organize these efforts for the benefit of businesses, residents and customers alike!

    • Thank you to Deeg Consulting for the snacks and waters.
    • Thank you to Piedmont Heights Civic Association for putting the word out and connecting residents to the business alliance.
    • Thank you to Bob Glascock- Coldwell Banker Realty for sponsoring the signs and landscape crew.
    • Thank you to Ready Trading Company and Nakato Japanese Restaurant for bringing volunteers from your businesses.
    • Thank you to Preferred Office for helping with clean up supplies.
    • Thank you to idealDESIGN for coordinating the effort on behalf of PiHi Alliance.

We'll get back together for another Beautify PiHi in January or February 2021.

If you have a location within the business districts of the neighborhood that need to be beautified- let us know.

PROTECT YOUR BUSINESS WITH LIABILITY STATEMENTS + SIGNS

Effective 8.7.20, under Georgia's new COVID liability shield law, businesses are required to post a very specific sign in order to gain the law's protection from COVID-related lawsuits.

RECEIPT MESSAGE AND SIGNS HAVE TO BE A SPECIFIC SIZE AND FOLLOW STRICT GUIDELINES TO BE VALID!

    • RECEIPT: Includes a statement in at least ten-point Arial font placed apart from any other text, stating the following warning:
      • Any person entering the premises waives all civil liability against this premises owner and operator for any injuries caused by the inherent risk associated with contracting COVID-19 at public gatherings, except for gross negligence, willful and wanton misconduct, reckless infliction of harm, or intentional infliction of harm, by the individual or entity of the premises.
    • SIGNAGE: An individual or entity of the premises has posted at a point of entry, if present, to the premises, a sign in at least one-inch Arial font placed apart from any other text, a written warning stating the following:
'Warning 127 Under Georgia law, there is no liability for an injury or death of an individual entering these premises if such injury or death results from the inherent risks of contracting COVID-19. You are assuming this risk by entering these premises.'

Our second Beautify PiHi event on Friday, August 7th was an incredible success with 30 volunteers and the Brightview Landscaping crew!  We tackled a lot of trash, kudzu and overgrown weeds and brush along Armour Drive NE starting at the MARTA overpass to the intersection of Armour and Ottley Drives.

Preferred Office was the main lead sponsor by coordinating with PiHi Alliance and providing their landscape company, Brightview Landscaping to weed wack and remove over 30 bags of trash and 15 piles of green debris. They also provided trash bags, trash pickers and gloves.

The clean up was sponsored by the Woof's Atlanta crew. Fifteen of their staff with friends and family showed up ready to get dirty all for a good cause! They worked hard and made a huge difference!

Many thanks to Nakato Japanese Restaurant, Bob Glasscock of Coldwell Banker Realty, Sewingmachine.com and idealDESIGN,inc for showing up to pitch in.

Our neighborhood association, Piedmont Heights Civic Association board members also joined in the effort.

Our next clean up is October. We are looking for an area to clean up and a business or businesses to sponsor the event by providing one or more of the following:

    • Volunteers
    • Lunch for volunteers
    • Pay for and provide landscaping company support
    • Trash bags, gloves, trash pickers etc..
