The Second Annual Beautify PiHi cleanup, held on National Pi Day, March 14, 2026, at Ansley Mall, was a remarkable success, bringing together dedicated volunteers to make our neighborhood shine. The turnout was fantastic, the results were clear, and the event highlighted our commitment to our commercial corridors.
This year's event was proudly sponsored by Selig Enterprises, Nakato Japanese Restaurant, and Fast Signs of South Buckhead. We truly appreciate their support, which made this day possible.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the 57 total participants who showed up ready to work, including 51 incredible adult volunteers and 6 enthusiastic kids! Your commitment to our community is inspiring and the sheer amount of work accomplished is a testament to the power of collective action.
We also want to give a special thank you to Ansley Golf Club and Stacy's Compounding Pharmacy for their invaluable assistance with trash bag pick up and transport to the dumpster.
Thank you to Ansley Mall Publix for donating the water and fruit for our volunteers. It was a perfect pairing to the bagels and coffee provided by Selig Enterprises.
The day was spent tackling litter and debris across a significant portion of our neighborhood: 2.5 miles of Piedmont Road NE from the Atlanta BeltLine to Windemere Rd NE, Monroe Drive from Piedmont to Montgomery Ferry, and the entire stretch of the NE Trail of the Atlanta BeltLine directly behind Ansley Square and Ansley Mall.
The results speak for themselves:
Our mission is to support small businesses and make our commercial corridors welcoming for everyone, and every bag of trash removed helps us achieve that goal.
Every cleanup event yields a few surprises, and this year was no exception. Our volunteers came across a truly bizarre assortment of items. While we celebrate the removal of all waste, we couldn't help but chuckle at some of the day's more peculiar discoveries, including:
-
An Axe
-
6 Solar power light caps
-
A 6ft pole
-
A variety of bike parts (seat, pedals, and brakes)
-
A computer chip
-
A croc shoe
-
A cocktail glass with olives
-
And, most curiously, a collection of panties, an adult toy, chicken wings, and pill bottles.
Thank you once again to everyone who participated! Check out photos from the event here.
Keep an eye out for details on our next Beautify Cheshire Bridge on Saturday May 16 as we continue our mission to keep our commercial corridors of greater Piedmont Heights clean and accessible for everyone.
