June 7th Beautify Cheshire Bridge: Collaboration at It's Best!
We're thrilled with the incredible turnout of 37 volunteers that collected 47 bags of trash and a lot of big items! The feat of hauling all of the existing bags and construction debris from I-85 to our location was above and beyond- Thank you to the Halpern Crew and Eugene for making that happen!
The trash collected included broken glass, yard signs, a huge coil of wire, industrial drill bit, broken traffic cone, underwear, denim shorts, condoms, chicken wing bones, construction materials, back of a large screen TV, a twisted yield sign and a fentanyl test kit along with the usual packaging, water/soda bottles and cigarette butts. WE LOVE OUR VOLUNTEERS!
- Thank you to Halpern Enterprises for sponsoring the coordination, breakfast and publicity of the event.
- Thank you to Nakato for providing the tent, cooler and chairs...it was hot and the iced water and shade made a big difference.
- Thank you to Neighborhood Associations of Lindridge Martin Manor, LaVista Park, Morningside Lenox Park, Piedmont Heights and the South Fork Conservancy for coming together and caring about the small business commercial corridors of Cheshire Bridge.
- Thank you to Keep Atlanta Beautiful for providing the gloves, trash grabbers, safety vests and trash bags.
- Thank you to Six Feet Under for providing 50% lunch that day. I made sure to grab a snack and a cold beer!!!
- Thank you to Councilmember Wan for showing up and supporting!
